The 78 step solution is one of the most challenging and complex that we have ever offered! Opening this collector's piece will require moving the 8 sliding "keys" and 4 moving panels in precisely the correct sequence. The "Sun" is a reference to the size, specifically the length, of the puzzle box. The Japanese inch, 1 sun = approx. 1.2 inches. This amazing Himitsu-Bako (personal secret box) measures a whopping 8.3 x 5.5 x 4.3 inches! It's HUGE! The beautiful finish is called "Koyosegi." This marquetry technique takes advantage of the wide variety of trees in the Hakone Regions of Japan. This art form originated in the late Edo Period. In May of 1984, Yosegi-Zaiku was designated a National Traditional Handicraft by Japan's International Trade & Industry Minister. The quality of this secret opening box is exceptional!
